Daniel Arsham Solo Exhibition “Seoul 3024” is presented at Lotte Museum of Art in Seoul from Jul 12 – Oct 13, 2024. The exhibition offers an expansive overview of over two decades of Arsham’s work, showcasing his signature “fictional archaeology” concept through sculpture, painting, architecture, and film. Works are created by casting everyday objects and cultural icons in mineral materials and intentionally corroding them to resemble future relics, creating an uncanny experience of looking at the present and past from the vantage of the distant future. The immersive space design—set in the imagined year 3024—features a wide range of works, including pieces inspired by classical sculpture and collaborations with pop culture franchises like Pokémon, as well as new works created for the Seoul presentation.

다니엘 아샴 개인전 《Seoul 3024》는 롯데뮤지엄에서 2024년 7월 12일부터 10월 13일까지 열린다. 아샴은 일상적 오브제를 광물 재료로 주조하고 인위적으로 부식시켜 미래의 유물처럼 재현하는 ‘가상의 고고학(fictional archaeology)’ 개념으로 알려져 있으며, 이번 전시는 그의 20여 년 작업을 아시아 최초로 폭넓게 조망한다. 루브르 컬렉션을 모티프로 한 침식된 고전 조각 시리즈부터 팩맨(Pokémon) 같은 대중문화와 협업한 작품, 그리고 서울 전시를 위해 제작된 신작과 대규모 발굴 현장 재현 설치까지 포함된다. 이 공간은 관객이 미래의 시점에서 현재와 과거를 동시에 사유하도록 유도하는 몰입적 환경으로 연출된다.
