Takashi Murakami’s major exhibition “Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow” is presented at the Cleveland Museum of Art from May 25 – Sep 7, 2025. The show features more than 100 works spanning painting, sculpture, installation, and immersive environments created by the acclaimed Japanese artist, who blends traditional Japanese art with contemporary pop culture influences such as anime, manga, and kawaii. Originating at The Broad in Los Angeles, the Cleveland presentation includes exclusive new works and a full-scale installation of a traditional Yumedono (Dream Hall) in the museum’s atrium, inviting visitors to explore themes of cultural memory, crisis, healing, and escapist fantasy.

다카시 무라카미 전시 《Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow》는 클리블랜드 미술관(The Cleveland Museum of Art)에서 2025년 5월 25일부터 9월 7일까지 진행된다. 전시에는 회화, 조각, 설치 등 100여 점이 넘는 작품이 출품되며, 전통 일본 예술 요소와 애니메이션·만화 문화가 결합된 ‘슈퍼플랫’ 미학을 통해 문화적 기억, 위기, 치유와 상상적 도피를 주제로 다양한 시각 경험을 제시한다. 전시의 핵심 공간 중 하나인 아트리움에는 일본 나라의 호류지(Hōryūji) 사찰 ‘꿈의 전당(Yumedono)’이 재현되어 관객이 설치 안에서 작업을 직접 체험할 수 있다.
