The exhibition “Min Kyoung-kap: Ask Nature the Way” is presented at SeMA Nam-Seoul Museum of Art from May 8 – Jul 8, 2012. 《민경갑_자연에 길을 묻다》전은 2009년 서울시립미술관에 36점의 작품을 기증한 유산(酉山) 민경갑(1933~) 화백의 작품 기증을 기념하고, 그의 작품 세계를 조명하는 전시로 서울시립 남서울미술관 1층·2층 전시실에서 2012년 5월 8일부터 7월 8일까지 진행된다. 작가는 60여 년간 한국화의 길을 걸으며 전통성과 현대성을 결합한 독자적인 화맥을 구축해왔고, ‘자연’을 평생의 탐구 과제로 삼아 산수의 현대적 확장과 자연의 섭리에 조화하려는 정신적 태도를 작품으로 이어간다. 화선지와 묵, 천연 안료의 전통적 재료를 바탕으로 구상과 추상을 넘나드는 유기적 구성을 펼치며, 투명하고 깊이 있는 한국화의 색감으로 한국인의 정서와 정신을 현재형의 감각으로 드러낸다.
