봄의 선율

This print exhibition by Lee Walchong at Daegu Shinsegae Gallery presented works that express life within peaceful and vibrant nature through primordial imagery. Rich colors and freely composed scenes convey the lively energy of spring while reflecting the artist’s philosophical approach to life.
Lee Walchong’s work has consistently explored everyday life and nature through major series such as Life Within Daily Living, The Middle Way of Life, and The Middle Way of Jeju Life. Central to his practice is the concept of the “Middle Way,” a Buddhist philosophy that avoids extremes and forms the foundation of his worldview.
《봄의 선율_이왈종 판화 展》은 대구신세계갤러리에서 열린 이왈종 판화전으로, 평화롭고 생동하는 자연 속 삶을 원생적 이미지로 표현한 작품들을 선보였다.
이왈종은 <생활 속에서>, <생활의 중도>, <제주 생활의 중도> 등 일상과 자연을 주제로 한 연작을 통해 꾸준히 작품 세계를 확장해왔다. 그의 작업 전반을 관통하는 ‘중도(中道)’는 양극단에 치우치지 않는 불교적 사유를 바탕으로 한 세계관을 반영한다.
화폭 속 꽃나무와 동물, 인간의 모습들은 자연스럽게 어우러지며 인간 중심적 시선을 넘어선 만물의 평등과 무위자연의 이상향을 그려낸다. 이번 전시는 이왈종 특유의 자유롭고 낙천적인 조형 언어를 통해 삶의 긍정과 내면의 자유를 사유하는 시간을 제안한다.
