William Sweetlove is a contemporary Belgian sculptor and a member of the Italy-based Cracking Art Group. His work combines elements of Dadaism, Surrealism, and Pop Art, forming a distinctive visual language that critically reflects on contemporary society.

As expressed in his statement, “Art is not a message, it is art. But if there is a message, why not?”, Sweetlove’s practice often addresses environmental issues, particularly climate change and the depletion of natural resources. His sculptures frequently depict brightly colored, replicated animals made of plastic, holding water bottles or wearing boots.

These animal figures serve as symbolic critiques of consumer culture and human indifference, using their playful and approachable appearance to raise questions about environmental crises and water scarcity. Through his paintings and sculptures, Sweetlove conveys his belief that art can act as an antidote to overconsumption and excessive production, encouraging viewers to reflect on personal responsibility and the need for social change. His works are held in numerous private collections, including those of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden.
