이희정은 자연이 지닌 생명력과 영적인 울림을 화폭에 담아내는 작가이다. 그의 작업은 하나의 점에서 시작된다. 점이 모여 선이 되고, 선이 면을 이루듯 모든 존재는 서로 연결되어 있으며 인간 또한 자연 앞에서는 하나의 작은 점에 불과하다는 사유를 바탕으로 자신만의 회화 세계를 구축해왔다. 작가는 숲을 단순한 풍경이 아닌 생명의 흐름이 머무는 공간으로 바라보며, 자연 속에서 마주하는 빛과 바람, 안개와 비, 흙과 오래된 나무의 시간성, 그리고 고요함과 신비, 경외의 감정을 화면에 담아낸다.

작품 속에는 숲을 향해 걸어가는 한 사람과 사슴이 반복적으로 등장한다. 사슴은 작가가 신을 대신해 표현한 상징적 존재로, 보이지 않는 길을 묵묵히 인도하는 존재를 의미한다. 그 뒤를 따르는 인물은 미리 정해진 길이 아닌 자신의 삶을 믿고 나아가는 우리 모두의 모습을 상징한다. 이희정은 자연과 인간, 그리고 보이지 않는 존재와의 관계를 섬세하게 풀어내며, 관람자가 자신의 내면을 돌아보고 삶의 흐름을 사유할 수 있는 풍경을 그려낸다.

1969년 서울에서 태어난 이희정은 일본 동양미술학교에서 회화를 전공했으며, 현재 제주를 기반으로 작품 활동을 이어가고 있다. 개인전 <건너가는 사람>을 비롯해 화랑미술제, DIAF, BAMA, 제주국제아트페어 등 국내외 전시와 아트페어에 참여하며 자신만의 작품 세계를 선보이고 있다. 자연을 통해 삶의 흐름과 존재의 의미를 탐구하는 그의 작업은 숲과 사슴, 그리고 사람을 매개로 인간과 자연, 보이지 않는 존재와의 관계를 깊이 있게 풀어내고 있다.

Lee Hee Jung is an artist whose paintings embody the vitality of nature and its spiritual resonance. Her work begins with a single dot. As dots become lines and lines become planes, she builds a distinctive visual language based on the belief that all living things are interconnected and that human beings, too, are merely small points within the vast order of nature. Rather than depicting forests as simple landscapes, she captures the flow of life within them, expressing the changing light, wind, mist, rain, the passage of time found in soil and aged trees, as well as the serenity, mystery, and awe experienced in nature.

Recurring throughout her paintings are a solitary figure and a deer walking toward the forest. The deer serves as a symbolic presence representing the divine, quietly guiding the way along an unseen path. The figure following behind symbolizes all of us, moving forward with trust even without a predetermined destination. Through these motifs, Lee delicately explores the relationship between humanity, nature, and the unseen, inviting viewers to reflect on their inner selves and contemplate the greater flow of life.

Born in Seoul in 1969, Lee Hee Jung studied Painting at the Oriental Art School in Japan and is currently based in Jeju, where she continues her artistic practice. She has presented her work through the solo exhibition <The One Who Crosses>, as well as major art fairs and exhibitions including Galleries Art Fair, DIAF, BAMA, and the Jeju International Art Fair. Exploring the meaning of life and existence through nature, her paintings thoughtfully reveal the relationship between humanity, the natural world, and the unseen through the recurring imagery of forests, deer, and the human figure.
