As autumn deepens, Inseori Park, located in the historic downtown area of Gwangyang, is drawing attention as a cultural destination where visitors can enjoy art and relaxation. The complex brings together traditional Korean houses and renovated warehouses, offering an opportunity to experience contemporary art alongside the historic charm of the neighborhood.
Inseori Park is a cultural complex featuring galleries, cafés, and accommodation facilities. The space preserves elements of its original surroundings, including stone walls, an old stone well, and persimmon trees, while introducing cultural programs that allow visitors to enjoy art in a peaceful setting.
At Banchango Gallery, artist Kim Sung-gyeol's solo exhibition “Vanished Faces” will be on view through October 9. Rather than portraying figures realistically, the exhibition explores personal existence and identity in contemporary society through blurred forms, erased expressions, and anonymous figures.
The figures in Kim's paintings are characterized by vivid colors and striking compositions instead of clearly defined facial features. Visitors are invited to project their own memories and emotions onto these figures, reflecting on themes of existence, memory, and human relationships.
Beyond the exhibition, visitors can enjoy cafés and cultural activities throughout Inseori Park. The complex also serves as a central point in Gwangyang's historic downtown cultural district, connecting nearby destinations such as Gwangyang Art Warehouse, Jeonnam Museum of Art, and Gwangyang History and Culture Museum.
Inseori Park will remain open throughout the Chuseok holiday, offering exhibitions, cultural experiences, and spaces for relaxation. The destination invites visitors to discover the relationship between art, history, and everyday life while exploring the charming streets of Gwangyang.
