ARTN Edition has announced the complete sell-out of four print editions by artist Kim Sea Joong. Part of the “Gap, Between, Light” series, the works were released in four color variations—pink, white, blue, and olive green—with each edition limited to 15 prints. The series quickly sold out following its release, reflecting strong interest from collectors.

Unlike conventional flat prints, the series employs a hybrid production technique. While the circular composition and color fields are created through printmaking processes, the vertical central element is built up manually by the artist through layered paint application. As a result, each edition carries subtle variations, allowing print and painting, flatness and dimensionality, to coexist within a single surface.

Kim Sea Joong studied fine art at Université Paris 8 and has consistently explored “light permeating the gaps of space” through his practice. Recognizing color as an essential element that opens spatial perception, he expands depth and density within monochromatic structures. The sell-out of this edition demonstrates how his artistic language resonates meaningfully within the edition format as well.

아트 플랫폼 아트앤에디션이 선보인 김세중 작가의 판화 4종이 모두 완판됐다. ‘틈, 사이, 빛’ 시리즈로 구성된 이번 에디션은 핑크, 화이트, 블루, 올리브 그린 네 가지 색상으로 제작됐으며, 각 작품은 15에디션 한정으로 선보였다. 공개 이후 비교적 짧은 기간 안에 전량 소진되며 컬렉터들의 높은 관심을 입증했다.

이번 시리즈는 일반적인 평면 판화와 달리 하이브리드 제작기법을 적용한 것이 특징이다. 원형 구조와 색면은 판화 공정으로 구현하고, 화면 중심의 세로 요소는 작가가 직접 물감을 쌓아 올리는 수작업으로 완성해 각 에디션마다 미묘한 차이를 지닌다. 판화와 회화, 평면과 입체가 한 화면 안에서 공존하며 김세중 특유의 조형 언어를 확장한다.

김세중은 파리 국립 8대학에서 조형예술을 전공했으며, ‘공간의 틈에 스며드는 빛’을 회화적으로 탐구해왔다. 색을 공간을 여는 본질로 인식하며 단색의 밀도와 깊이를 통해 화면의 공간감을 확장하는 작업을 이어가고 있다. 이번 완판은 그의 작업 세계가 에디션 작품에서도 충분한 공감과 소장 가치를 확보하고 있음을 보여준다.
