The exhibition “Spreading and Remaining: Chang Ucchin's Ink Paintings” is presented at the Chang Ucchin Museum of Art in Yangju from Sep 30, 2025 – Apr 5, 2026. Expanding the understanding of Chang Ucchin's artistic practice beyond his well-known oil paintings, the exhibition highlights the distinctive qualities of his ink paintings, particularly those created around and after 1980. Drawing on traditional ink and paper while reinterpreting motifs from Korean folk painting and other artistic traditions, these works reveal the artist's unique approach to bridging Eastern and Western painting. Featuring approximately 40 works, including previously unseen pieces from the museum's collection, the exhibition explores three recurring themes—folk painting, Buddhism, and everyday life—and reexamines the artistic and historical significance of his ink paintings.

장욱진의 먹그림을 조명하는 전시 《번지고 남아있는: 장욱진 먹그림》은 2025년 9월 30일부터 2026년 4월 5일까지 경기도 양주시립장욱진미술관에서 열린다. 이번 전시는 유화 중심으로 다루어졌던 장욱진의 예술세계를 확장하여 1980년 전후부터 활발히 제작된 먹그림의 독창성과 미술사적 가치를 새롭게 살펴본다. 전통적인 먹과 종이를 사용하면서도 민화와 불교적 소재를 자신만의 조형 언어로 재해석한 작품들은 동양화와 서양화의 경계를 넘나드는 작가의 예술적 태도를 보여준다. 민화, 불교, 일상이라는 세 가지 주제를 중심으로 미공개 소장품을 포함한 약 40여 점의 작품을 선보이며, 장욱진의 세계관과 먹그림이 지닌 고유한 아름다움을 조명한다.
