The solo exhibition “Taein” at Label Gallery in Seoul presents works that appropriate images of products displayed in familiar market food corners from Apr 1 – May 15, 2015. The artist makes the ordinary unfamiliar through background treatments and enlarged imagery that boldly confront the viewer, and explores the concept of repeated display and selection as a form of “lining up” in consumer choice. By re-presenting items that have been chosen in the marketplace as large-scale images in the gallery, the exhibition reflects on the intriguing relationship between social standards, personal choice, and visual presence.

태인 개인전 《Taein》은 서울 성수동에 위치한 레이블 갤러리에서 2015년 4월 1일부터 5월 15일까지 진행된다. 전시는 익숙한 마켓 식품코너 상품 이미지를 차용하여 배경 처리와 확대된 이미지로 생경한 시각을 만들어내며, 소비자의 선택을 위해 반복 진열된 상품과 ‘줄서기’라는 개념을 연결해 보여준다. 작가는 익숙한 사물을 전시장으로 옮기고 또 다른 선택을 기다리는 ‘줄서기’의 풍경을 제시한다.
