The special exhibition “Kwaak In-sik Centennial” is presented at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) Gwacheon from Jun 13 – Sep 15, 2019. The show commemorates the 100th anniversary of artist Kwaak In-sik’s birth and gathers works and archival materials from Korea and Japan to reassess his contributions to modern art, particularly his early exploration of materiality in sculpture, painting, and mixed media that preceded wider discussions in Japanese art.
