This solo and group exhibition at the Jeju Museum of Art presented a curated selection of works exploring hyperrealistic painting and its development from the mid-1970s to the present. The exhibition included contemporary realist works that foreground familiar subjects and forms without preconception, allowing viewers to engage directly with the visual experience.
The exhibition was divided into three sections: invited works from established artists, mid-period works from the late 20th century, and current representatives of hyperrealism in Korean contemporary art. Through diverse approaches, it traced the cultural and social factors that shaped hyperrealistic painting within Korean modern and contemporary art.
《엄마! 가짜라서 미안해요!》는 제주도립미술관에서 열린 전시로, 1970년대 중반 이후 한국 현대미술에서 나타난 극사실 회화를 조망했다. 전시는 초대 작가 작품, 90년대 이후 중기 작품, 그리고 현재를 대표하는 작가들의 다양한 실험적 회화를 통해 극사실적 조형 탐구를 보여주었다.
