Tim O’Toole is an American landscape painter known for delicately capturing the light and colors of nature. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he showed an early interest in drawing and painting, developing his artistic sensibility within a creative environment surrounded by professional painters and sculptors. After studying at the Dayton Art Institute, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati.

His work has been influenced by artists such as John Singer Sargent, Joaquín Sorolla, Claude Monet, and Andrew Wyeth, all of whom interpreted light and nature through deeply personal perspectives. During his younger years, O’Toole spent time in Pennsylvania’s Chester County, painting the rural landscapes associated with Wyeth, which later helped shape his own vision of nature as serene, idealized, and contemplative.

For more than twenty years, Tim O’Toole refined his skills as a landscape painter through extensive outdoor painting sessions across Colorado. To quickly capture shifting light and fleeting atmospheres, he works with a variety of tools including brushes, palette knives, and even his fingers. His paintings reflect the quiet grandeur of nature through fading skies, tranquil fields, and vibrant gardens, all rendered with refined color sensibility and luminous depth.

In addition, he has conducted workshops and live demonstrations throughout the United States and internationally, while traditional compositional patterns encountered during his travels in Asia also influenced his floral still-life paintings.
