연세대학교 상경대학을 졸업한 나윤찬은 다수의 개인전과 아트페어, 단체전을 해오며, 한국미술협회, 서초미술협회, 한국전업미술가협회 등의 회원으로 활동 중이다. 어려서 그림을 시작한 그는 유년 시절의 기억과 여행에서 얻은 인상을 서정적인 이미지로 그려낸다.

대학에서 경영학을 공부한 경영학도로서 정규 미술교육을 받아본 적이 없는 그의 작품은 타고난 감수성과 심미안의 결과물로 보인다. 그의 화면 구성은 소실점이 없는데도 원근이 존재하는 효과를 낸다. 사물을 화면 구석으로 몰아놓는 독특한 구도로 시야를 확보한다.

그의 작품에 일관되게 등장하는 나무의 형태나 집의 구조는 이질적으로 분리되면서도 공존해 경쾌한 긴장과 리듬감을 만든다. 세상을 낙관적으로 보려고 했던 마티스 작품의 기류와 비슷한 온전성이 그의 작품 세계에도 보인다. 그의 작품은 ‘온 세상의 아름다움에 대한 헌사’로 가득하며, 국민은행, LH공사 등 기업들의 달력으로 제작되어 더욱 친근하게 대중에게 다가가고 있다.

Na Yun Chan graduated from the College of Business Administration at Yonsei University and has participated in numerous solo exhibitions, art fairs, and group exhibitions. He is currently active as a member of the Korea Fine Arts Association, the Seocho Art Association, and the Korea Professional Fine Artists Association. Having begun drawing at an early age, he renders memories from childhood and impressions gained through travel into lyrical images.

As a business major who has never received formal art education, his works appear to be the result of innate sensitivity and aesthetic sensibility. His compositions create a sense of depth and perspective even without a vanishing point, while his distinctive approach of placing objects toward the edges of the canvas opens up the viewer’s field of vision.

The recurring forms of trees and the structures of houses in his works appear separated yet coexist, creating a lively tension and rhythmic balance. A sense of wholeness reminiscent of the atmosphere found in Matisse’s optimistic view of the world is also present in his artistic universe. His works are filled with what can be described as “a tribute to the beauty of the entire world,” and they have reached a wider audience through their production as calendars for corporations such as KB Kookmin Bank and LH Corporation.
