잊혀지고 사라져가는 감정을 포착해 시각화하는 이경훈은 일상의 장소를 평화로운 현대판 무릉도원처럼 그려낸다. 작품 속 인물과 어우러지는 다양한 동식물과 일상적인 소품들은 한 편의 동화를 떠올리게 하며, 보는 이에게 순수한 감정과 따뜻한 즐거움을 선사한다.

작가는 일상 속에서 무심히 지나쳐 버린 감정이나 공허함이 밀려올 때, 과거에 느꼈던 가슴 벅찬 순간과 설레는 기억 속으로 잠시 스며든다. 그때의 감정을 상상하며 과거의 자신과 현재의 자신이 서로를 위로하고 화해하듯, 한 화면 안에서 대화를 나누는 장면으로 풀어낸다. 주변의 사소한 시각적 대상에 대한 섬세한 관찰은 그의 작업 세계를 이루는 중요한 기반이 된다.

중앙대학교 한국화과와 동 대학원을 졸업한 그는 약 10여 년 전부터 유화 작업에 몰입해 왔다. 14회의 개인전과 175회에 이르는 해외 단체전에 참여했으며, 각종 공모전 수상을 통해 작가로서의 입지를 다져왔다.

Lee Kyung Hoon visualizes emotions that are gradually forgotten or fading away, depicting everyday places as a peaceful, contemporary version of a utopian paradise. The figures in his paintings coexist with various animals, plants, and familiar objects, creating scenes that resemble a fairy tale and offering viewers a sense of innocence and quiet delight.

Whenever he feels moments of emptiness or overlooked emotions in daily life, the artist retreats into memories of once-exhilarating and fluttering moments. By imagining those feelings, he portrays scenes in which his past self and present self seem to converse within a single frame, comforting and reconciling with one another. His delicate observation of ordinary visual elements forms the foundation of his unique creative world.

After graduating from the Department of Korean Painting at Chung-Ang University and completing his graduate studies there, Lee Kyung Hoon has focused intensively on oil painting for over a decade. He has held fourteen solo exhibitions and participated in 175 overseas group exhibitions, gaining recognition through numerous awards in art competitions.
